![]() Split the map if you can, make him chase. Because he's a big base pushing him short just once is a HUGE push. Sure he's mobile but he needs to spend power to really move or he's spending a precious action getting into position. In fact, his SoV and WJ don't trigger when you throw him into his friends which can be handy for getting his Deal With the Devil targets trimmed down. He can be advanced, pushed and thrown without worry. The better idea is to use control abilities. Ghost Rider is really Johnny Blaze, a motorcycle stuntman cursed to fight evil while intimidating foes with his burning skull. One good Hulk activation will burn him down. He's only got 3 physical defense and no defensive abilities other than his immunities. Spirit of Vengeance and Wicked Judgement won't trigger when you do but he's got 8 health and tons of immunities. If you have big physical attackers (your Hulks, your Thors, even your Baron Zemo) then you can try to spike him down. There are basically 2 approaches to dealing with ghost rider. Here are some lessons I learned from that experience that your friend might benefit from. I've had a bunch of reps into him and I remember the frustration. I played against a player in my local meta that played Midnight Suns every week for like a year. You really just gotta get in a few games collecting data. And high threat characters still have weakness and shortcomings - even if they aren't always literal weaker defense stats. My team wind up healthy.but power starved, and spend all game trying to get back in position, catching up to my opponent in terms of victory points AND power.Įchoing the previous commenter: I've found MCP to be waaay more balanced than anything from GW. But tbh I know that what I hate as a Ghost Rider player are things like throws, places, and pushes that don't necessarily deal damage to my team but do displace them and screw up my plans. or focus on damaging anyone else, but power the Rider up anyway thanks to Spirit of Vengeance. Ghost Rider offers your opponent a Sophie's choice: damage him and maybe feel like you wasted your time when he comes screaming back out of your backline Wong, on his healthy side like a bat out of hell. You've gotta learn their defenses, their powers, and what buffs, bodyguards, rerolls, etc. I've found usually when dealing with most 2,3, or even 4 threats there are a decent number of ways to deal with them, but higher threat values are more specialized and won't go down to any old approach. The Stranges take a bit more knowledge and finesse to really maximize them, but that's kinda how it goes with higher threat characters: you're gonna know when they're on the table lol Did your friend bring a 5 or 6 threat of their own? Cause I also play Midnight Sons with Ghost Rider, and he seems to perform pretty well - but so do Juggernaut, Magneto, Hulk, and either Dr. ![]()
